Crochet hook holder

So, here it is. I found a tutorial for a cute little crochet hook/supply holder, and I thought I needed one. I'm currently hauling all my stuff around in ziploc bags. But, ziploc bags rip, and I spend much time searching the bottom of my bag for needles and other hooks.
Anyways, here are some pics!

This is the 'hook holder' rolled up...

This is the outside. I'm so glad I decided to try putting a ruffle on it! Please, do not judge the close ups of these, I'm not that great with a machine yet. lol

Here is the inside. I need to put the needles in the small pocket on the right side, yet, and the big pocket behind that I'm going to use for papers, scraps, teddy bear eyes... anything I need to take with me. Again, don't mind all the crooked seams! ;)

Thanks for checking this out! It was lots of fun to make. It's not everyday I can use flowers, pink, and ruffles!

Oh, and always, comments and ideas are welcome.

Ruffles

So, I'm making this adorable crochet hook case, and I decided it needed a ruffle. For those of you who know me, I only have boys, so there's not a whole lot of ruffles/pink/girly things in my life. This is my first attempt at 'the ruffle'... we'll see how it goes!
Pictures to follow later!

I sewed!!

I'm so excited! I've been trying and trying to make a bag I like... and would carry. But, me not being such an experienced sewer/seamstress *whatever*, I was having a bit of a hard time. I found a bag I liked and tried to copy it with free fabric my mother in law gave me... it didn't really turn out. Yes, that is denim and pink/yellow flowered flanel. Pretty, ain't it?

Then I found some fabric I LOVED at Walmart and decided I had to MAKE it work. I made a paper pattern and taped it all together to see how it would work. Here's the finished product! It's not perfect, but I'm pretty proud of it, and I LOVE the fabric!

A 'girly' project

I'm so excited! Well, a little heart broken that I didn't win this give away at cozy.cottage.cute. No big deal, though, she's inspired me enough to go out and buy my OWN hole punch! So there! So, I drove to Michaels and picked up this adorable Martha Stewart heart punch. Anyways, amidst all the painting and cleaning I've been doing, I decided I needed to try out the hole punch project, and, I've got to say (even though mine is only a 4x6 and I couldn't fit as many hearts and...) I LOVE it!

A close up of my cute little hearts...
Cute for a $1.00 Value Village frame!
And... on my shelf.
Oh, and how do you like my new wall color? Got rid of all the beige... finally! Creamy yellow now, and it looks SO much better!

Unsuccessful Sewing Day

I'm trying to make myself a holder for my crochet hooks, needles, and scissors with a matching bag to carry my yarn around in. I'm not too handy with the sewing machine and figure I needed LOTS of time to figure out what I was doing. Today, being a snow day, seemed to be the perfect day to try! I'm not posting pictures... my projects didn't turn out. Oh well, there's always tomorrow!

A GIVE AWAY!!

Check out Cozy.Cottage.Cute, and make sure you enter her draw! She's giving away an adorable butterfly hole punch, and a valentines heart hole punch!

My first wreath!

It's not totally finished yet, but here it is... my first wreath! I'm quite proud of it! I made the flowers myself! I WAS just going to do the brown felt flowers, but it ended up looking too dull. I found an old pair of my dear hubby's jeans and an old cream receiving blanket, and voila! Color!

Let me know what you think... comments are very welcome. I need to add something to the other side of it, but I'm not sure what. The wreath will be hung with a cream star in the centre... Let me know if you think of anything!
